The €20 million summer signing from Genoa
has admitted that the struggling Rossoneri have to restore their reputation as
a top club
.
The
Rossoneri have no European football to look forward to in 2015-16 after
finishing a lowly 10th in the Serie A standings, a dismal showing that resulted
in the sacking of Filippo Inzaghi.
Former
Sampdoria boss Mihajlovic and since taken charge, while Bertolacci has been
prised away from Genoa at a cost of €20 million.
The
Italy international arrived at Milanello on Friday for his first day of
pre-season training with his new team-mates and admitted that there is a huge
sense of expectancy surrounding San Siro.
"I'm
so eager to start, do well and enjoy myself," he told Sky
Sport Italia.
"We
must have a good season and there is the chance to do that.
"I've
spoken with the coach and he told me that we have to have a great league
campaign.
"I
am really motivated."
Bertolacci
is the joint-fourth most expensive midfielder in Milan's history alongside
Domenico Morfeo, only ranking behind Rui Costa (€42m), Ronaldinho (€25m) and
Clarence Seedorf (€22m).
